Victoria Shepherd is a music industry licensing veteran. She spent 19 years at Music Canada and CONNECT Music Licensing, where she most recently served as Executive Director from 2010-2016. CONNECT non-exclusively licenses reproduction of sound recordings and broadcast of music videos for a variety of uses, including streaming, on behalf of thousands of rights holders in Canada and its members receive public performance compensation through Re:Sound. Victoria has appeared before the Department of Canadian Heritage, Canadian Parliament and the Copyright Board of Canada to advocate for rights holders. Victoria has also served as a member of the IFPI’s Music Licensing Working Group, is a member of the Centennial College Music Industry Arts Program Advisory Committee, and has studied leadership at Rotman’s School of Business and Schulich’s Executive Education Centre.
