Sam’s music career started when he was in his teens as the front man and co-songwriter of Sheffield band Dead like Harry. In 2010, after seven successful years touring the UK and selling over 5000 albums through his own label, the band decided to take a break from live touring. Sam relocated from Sheffield to London where he worked as a recording studio assistant with Grammy nominated producer Andy Chatterley. Alongside his work in the studio, Sam also worked as a Tour Manager for various acts and at Help Musicians UK- the leading UK charity for professional musicians of all genres. In 2014, Sam signed to Secret Road Music Publishing as a writer.
Sam currently works as the Project Manager for the Artist and Label Services at Sound Diplomacy- the world’s leading music market development consultancy, with offices in London, Barcelona and Berlin. Sound Diplomacy helps businesses, governments, municipalities, academic institutions and brands expand into new markets, or expand their impact and network in markets where they already operate.
