Watch Canada’s Port Cities taking on a very stripped back live version of “On The Nights You Stay Home”, filmed in Brighton earlier this year during their appearance at The Great Escape.
Comprised of a trio of celebrated Nova Scotian musicians – Carleton Stone, Dylan Guthro and Breagh MacKinnon – Port Cities were drawn together through songwriting as independent artists, with every intention of crafting new material, and then going their separate ways.
The band scooped five awards last month at November’s Nova Scotia Music Week, including album of the year, digital artist of the year and entertainer of the year – and have announced new single “Back To The Bottom”. “The song tells the story of a toxic relationship,” explains vocalist Breagh MacKinnon. “It’s about being stuck in the cycle of coming back to something or someone that isn’t good for either person; yet you still can’t get out.”
They head back to the UK in March next year for shows in Manchester (25 March at Manchester Castle), Glasgow (26 March at King Tuts), London (27 March at The Slaughtered Lamb) and Bath (29 March at Chapel Arts Centre).
