Dead Young Records
Festival director, venue manager and mini-label head honcho from the North of England.
Starting his career in the melting pot of Sheffield at the time when Arctic Monkeys were blowing up Nick worked early shows for them alongside the likes of The Killers, Bloc Party and the huge wave of indie artists who came though circa 2005. This integral knowledge of the musical map led to being snapped up by Sheffield Students Union as an in-house promoter at the multi-award winning venues he’d first moved to Yorkshire for. He joined a cutting edge team responsible for promoting and breaking artists as varied as Mark Ronson, Metronomy and Russell Brand in his time.
During this time Nick co-founded Dead Young Records, a Northern record label and promotions company, releasing records for Paul Thomas Saunders, The Lucid Dream and more whilst promoting shows for a diverse range of acts from Richard Hawley, Dan Mangan, Patrick Wolf and 100s more. This drew him away to neighboring Leeds where he is currently the in-house promoter at legendary bar Oporto, a regular stop on the UK touring circuit, director of Fell Foot Sound Festival in the Lake District and High & Lonesome Americana Festival in Leeds. He also works on the production for Communion events, End of the Road and Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia.
