With a lasting passion for music, Mandy started to go to concerts in her early teenage years. Spending all her pennies on records and following her favourite bands around the globe, not much has changed. Mandy first gained her professional experience in the industry working at College radio during school, resulting in a 6 months internship at Community Promotion, an independent Music PR Agency and Publisher based in Western Germany at the time. Although many fruitful opportunities emerged from this, Mandy focused on her academic background, finishing her studies (German and Linguistics) first. Meanwhile, Community Promotion moved to Hamburg; Mandy kept her links with the music industry freelancing, such as supervising interview days or accompanying young indie bands on tour. Shortly before her masters thesis, the temptation was too much. Mandy was offered the job as Radio Promoter, eventually skipping her studies, moving to Hamburg and joining Community Promotion.
Community Promotion has grown immensely over the last few years, and in addition to Radio PR, we offer Print/Online PR, Street and Guerilla PR, TV and DJ promotion. We work for all German and international major labels, but also for independent labels and artists – particularly with a penchant for exploring new bands and building up their careers. Mandy is happy to have worked on projects such as Jamie XX, Jungle, Wolf Alice, Benjamin Clementine, Darwin Deez, Is Tropical, Oh Wonder, Austrian break through act Bilderbuch, Amanda Palmer, Die Antwoord, Haim, Frightened Rabbit, Jake Bugg, City And Colour, Hey Rosetta!, Arkells, Adam Cohen, Ron Sexsmith and also young Canadian acts such as Mo Kenney, Rah Rah, Close Talker, Grounders, Jordan Klassen…
