Katja Lucker has been a Cultural Manager in Berlin since 1997. After studying philosophy and German philology, she studied acting and played in several German theatres and movies.
Since1997 she curates and produces festivals, interdisciplinary projects, and concerts, mainly in the fields of international pop and contemporary avantgarde music.
She is President of Kulturbrauerei e.V. in Berlin.
For Kulturbrauerei Berlin she develops projects and concerts and is curator and advisor of the mayor of Berlin, Klaus Wowereit and the Senatskanzlei.
As a producer for contemporary music she has worked, for example, together with the “Electronic Legend” Karlheinz Stockhausen for MICHAELS Jugend from Lichtzyklus.
From 2007 to 2011 she worked as a project developer together with Dieter Gorny (the founder of Viva and popkomm) on the field creative industries for the Capitol of Europe 2010 – RUHR.2010. Therefore, for example, she developed an interactive multimedia project for the German pavilion in Shanghai for Expo 2010.
She is part of Berlin Music Commission (BMC) and Altogethernow (a2n).
Right now she is also doing the concept for the next year (2013), starting Berlin Musicboard, and is moderating the process together with Tim Renner from Motor Music: a new structure for the Berlin music industry, starting with one million euro per year.
