Ilya Bortnyuk has been in the music industry since 1990. Ilya’s career includes art-director of a music club, radio show host, head of a music label and A&R Director of a Russian major record company represented by EMI, Virgin, Mute. In 2001, Ilya founded Light Music company, which has become one of the main independent promoting companies in Russia. Light Music has booked many artists and has organized numerous concerts from small clubs to arenas. Artists include Kraftwerk, Franz Ferdinand, Massive Attack, Air, Mogwai, Sigur Ros, PJ Harvey, Gogol Bordello, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Dead Can Dance and many others. Light Music company has organized several music festivals. The most famous is StereoLeto festival has been organized since 2001.
Ilya Bortnyuk is also the Founder and General Manager of School of Music Management in St.Petersburg.
The Light Music company is a partner in several international cultural projects with including Finland (Music and Media), Estonia (Tallinn Music week), Israel (Tel Aviv Days in St.Petersburg), Netherlands. (Cross year Netherland – Russia ), etc .
