Los Angeles native Erin Dillon began her career in the music industry at tastemaker radio station KCRW. There she met DJ and Grammy-nominated Music Supervisor Liza Richardson. Erin then worked for Liza on the film Push (2009) and various television shows. She followed this up with a term working at renowned music supervision and management company Format Entertainment with Dave Jordan (Iron Man, Transformers, Thor), Jojo Villanuevo (Arthur, Lottery Ticket, Mr. and Mrs. Smith) and Julia Michels (Sex and the City, It’s Complicated, The Blind Side) helping on projects ranging from Marmaduke to Something Borrowed. From Format she moved to DreamWorks Studios where she assisted on The Help, Cowboys and Aliens and Real Steel.
Erin began working as a music supervisor at Creative Control in early 2011. There she began working with Producer and Music Supervisor Joel C. High (Monster’s Ball, Madea’s Big Happy Family, The Devil’s Rejects). Last year she was nominated for a Guild of Music Supervisors Award for the independent film We the Party directed by Mario Van Peebles (Things Fall Apart, Law & Order). In addition, she has helped produce the soundtrack for Redemption Road, also directed by Van Peebles. She has also recently supervised Sexy Evil Genius directed by Shawn Piller (The Dead Zone, Greek) and School Dance written and directed by Nick Cannon. She is currently supervising a romantic comedy called Muffin Top: A Love Story directed by Cathryn Michon and a documentary about childhood obesity called Bite Size. Erin and Joel co-supervised David Cross’ directorial debut HITS which premiered at Sundance in January, 2014.
Erin has taken a lead role in Creative Control’s Event Production division. She has helped produce events throughout North America for artists ranging from Timber Timbre to Dan Mangan and Samantha Savage Smith, at venues as diverse as The Hotel Café in Hollywood, Arnaud’s in New Orleans, The Old School Bar & Grill in Austin, Texas and The Official Residence of the Canadian Consul General in Los Angeles. Creative Control has produced the Canadian Blast and Canada House at South By Southwest since 2006 the most recent South By Southwest 2013. A performance pianist for 13 years, Dillon’s knowledge and appreciation for music is vast and eclectic.
