Ali Tant started his music career as part of the Leeds (UK) based independent label ‘Dance To The Radio.’ In the 5 year time Ali was there the label achieved huge levels of success in the UK with artists including ¡Forward, Russia!, Sky Larkin and notably The Pigeon Detectives who sold over 500,000 units of their first 2 albums in 2007 and 2008. The label was at the forefront of a vibrant music scene in Leeds which saw artists like Kaiser Chiefs and The Cribs emerge. In the period of working at Dance To The Radio Ali also worked alongside promoter Ben Ray to set up Slam Dunk Records releasing the first record by You Me At Six, giving the band their first top 40 single before the band moved over to Virgin EMI.
Ali made the move to established UK Indie label Cooking Vinyl in 2012 working with a large number of artists including Marilyn Manson, Paul Buchanan, Madness, Alison Moyet and City and Colour.
In the Autumn of 2013 Ali moved over the newly formed Red Music Solutions, the UK division of Sony’s global RED setup to take up a role as Senior Label Manager. At RED Ali has worked with a number of fledgling label setups, established labels such as Downtown & a number of artists including The Cribs, Klaxons, Lower Than Atlantis, Cold War Kids and Pulled Apart By Horses on an artist service basis.
