Alex Maxwell is the talent buyer for the Troubadour, the iconic West Hollywood club that has hosted many of music’s greats from Elton John, Neil Young, and James Taylor to Nine Inch Nails and Depeche Mode more recently. While attending the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Alex got her start in the music industry working in production and marketing for Saltair, In The Venue, Lo-Fi Cafe, and the McKay Events Center. Upon moving to Los Angeles she transitioned to talent buying, booking shows at Bootleg Theatre, Silverlake Lounge, and various east side spots including the LA Zoo. Alex was instrumental in putting Bootleg Theatre on the map, helping to develop local artists and offering a competitive alternative for established acts like Garbage, Alt-J, Haim and Broken Bells. She has also served as a brand advocate for PUMA, curating music-focused events and liaising sponsorship opportunities. Last January she became the talent buyer for the Troubadour, where she continues to build the room’s exceptional history.
